Recently, I got to travel down to Disney World® for onsite training. By myself. Wow! I've been to Disney World® and Disneyland® without my kids, but never by myself! I was fine as I boarded my plane at 6:15am, excited about my "adventure" that I was about to embark on. I was fine as I sat on my plane, on the runway, for an hour, waiting for the thick West Virginia fog to clear up enough for us to take off. But, then I landed in Orlando, by myself, at the airport where all of my family's magical vacations have begun. Yes, I admit it, I teared up as I approached the Disney's Magical Express® Transportation area at the Orlando airport. It felt really strange to be going to Disney World® without any of my family! My sadness quickly passed, though, as my anticipation and excitement took over. I boarded the bus to my home for the week.
My excitement grew as we entered my favorite Magical place--Disney World®!!!
If you want a great picture of the sign, sit in the front seat of the Disney's Magical Express® bus, on the right hand side! |
Was it at Disney's Polynesian Resort?
Nope! (But I would have LOVED to stay here...maybe next time!)
Was it at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort?
No, not here, either. Again, another great place to try sometime, though! Check out the cool topiaries outside of the resort's entrance! Finally, we headed to...can you guess it? Yes, it's Disney's Contemporary Resort!!!
I was ecstatic about getting to stay here! This is somewhere my family would never consider staying, as the theming just doesn't match us, but this was a great way for me to check out this awesome resort. I checked in...
and then began what seemed like a mile-long trek to my room in the Garden Wing of the resort (we quickly found a much quicker way to get to the room!). I finally reached my room, glad to see Kimberly waiting there for me. Here are some pics of our room:
Just ignore the suitcase on the loveseat! It was an easy place to set it up ;) |
Now that we were "settled," it was time for a late lunch! We headed over to Contempo Cafe for a bite to eat--burgers and fries...yummm! It was fun to order our food on computer monitors--very "contemporary!" After lunch, it was time to head to the lobby to meet all of our new friends for the week and begin our training! Come back and visit for more details about our training trip next time!
